Save Our Children Rally 02-29-08

Even "In the beginning" of Pastor William F. Mooring's life, he had a desire to do a work for God.  Before the age of 30, he was married to Verlie, had 3 children, was settled into a good job in Huntington WV, and had built a new home.  At this time, he and his family began attending Stauton Street Apostolic Church.  He and Sis. Mooring received the Holy Spirit June 1, 1971.  Three years later, he felt a call from God to become a minister.  To the bewilderment of his friends and extended family, he resigned his job, sold his home, and moved to Texas to attend bible college.

Rev. and Mrs. Mooring both completed four years of bible teaching at Houston, Texas and then answered God's call to begin a church in Buckhannon. They came to Buckhannon in November 1978 and New Life Tabernacle began on Henry Street in a block garage.  Brother Mooring tells stories of the uncooperative coal stove which was their only source of heat that first winter.
